Jimmy Wales, one of the co-founders of Wikipedia talks in this video about the last ten years of Wikipedia and the growth he expects to see. It's an interesting and enlightening interview that sheds light on new projects like opening a new office in India. One thing I found very interesting was explaining how he believes Wikipedia formed because of the dotcom crash of the 1990s. I never thought about how consumer innovation really started to blossom from this event. Check it out!

Good point! Innovation often arises from adversity. A good example of this is the push for hybrid and electric autos, which in large part gas been fueled by global terrorism and our resolve to be less dependent upon foreign oil.
It would be interesting to hear is opinion on how he thinks wikipedia will be sustainable into the future. And especially address any complainting he's received from users griping about all of his new pop-up ads inundating wikipedia recently asking for money.
Ya if I were wikipedia I would really try to cut back on pop-up ads because it could cause individuals to stop using the site!
