Japanese Android Looks Human

An innovative robotics company, Kokoro, introduced a new Japanese android that strongly resembles a human nurse. The newly released android looks incredibly life-like and even tested by some hospitals in Japan. The purpose of this "nurse" is to provide patients with some company as they spend time on their hospital beds; they only sit beside the patient as the patient undergoes various tests. Heres a link to the video that demonstrates its movements.

Very interesting. The Japanese are investing heavily into robot technology due to their rapidly aging population. Their goal is to have their elderly cared for by a cadre of robot caregivers. Some folks, like David Levy, author of the book, "Love and Sex with Robots" believes that human-robot marriage will be a hotly contested issue within the next 20 years. We are definitely living in interesting times.

This is amazing! I found myself questioning if it was actually a human! I'm curious to see what other uses this robot may have besides providing patients company. We truly live in an innovative world and I'm excited to see what they come up with next!

Interesting!! I always wanted to have a "Doraemon(ドラえもん)", it is a cat-like robot that can do anything just like human beings from a Japanese cartoon, since I was a little kid. And now, this seems like no longer a dream!!
To be honest this Japanese Android Looks Human is a little bit creepy... cause it looks too real... but I believe that this robot, I even feel uncomfortable to call it robot, will be extremely helpful in the future.
