Hey Google, meet TV.

I'll be honest, I'm wasting time on the computer right now, with the TV on in the background. One of my favorite features of the up and coming Google TV is picture in picture: browse the internet, do some searches, all while your show is playing in the bottom right corner- now that's multi-tasking.

I haven't decided yet if this is actually as cool as it sounds. It's easy enough to plug a laptop into a TV and do a lot of the same things. Plus, Hulu and many network channels have yet to make an App for Google TV, so the sites and access to their free shows are blocked until further notice.
I definitely think this is the future of television but it's not quite there yet.

This is definitely intriguing. I played around on the website for GoogleTV and was impressed at the features and how adaptable it is to whatever kind of TV/cable option you have. However, what if you don't have a smart phone, or apps, or other said amenities? WIll it still be worthwhile? Is it just another great marketing ploy?

This is yet another service that enables our society's decreasing attention spans and our dependence on digital interaction.

I think that this is the #1 product of the very near future that everyone will have. Why do we need a desktop computer and a TV in the same room? They can easily be combined and allow for better multi-tasking. The key will be to have enough storage space, printer capability, and drives to function as an actual computer does, while also having a fully functional TV with TiVO, OnDemand, etc. GoogleTV seems to be a start, but I can see this idea expanding greatly in the near future.

What about just getting television broadcasts on my iPad? Then make it 3D and cook some popcorn as well!
